MISSION
To provide effective and efficient mitigation of emergencies that threaten life, property or the environment

GOAL
Respond to all requests for emergency services with an adequate number of trained personnel and proper equipment to effectively control the situation. To respond in a timely manner and conduct all operations within the safety guidelines of district policy, conforming to all state and federal regulations.

MANAGEMENT
The Operations Division is overseen by the District Chief, supported by 12 fulltime firefighters, 16 reserve firefighters and approximately 30 volunteers. Coverage is provided 24 hours daily with minimum staffing of two full time paid firefighters certified at the advanced paramedic level. Reserve firefighters respond in the evenings and on weekends, while volunteers are available to assist at varying intervals.

All members of the district respond to a wide range of emergency situations, including but not limited to:

  • Fire suppression, structural, chemical and wildland
  • Emergency medical services
  • Rescue, vehicle entrapment
  • Technical rescue, such as confined space, water and rope
  • Hazardous materials incidents, explosions

 

In addition to emergency response, all personnel have additional duties and responsibilities. Many hours are spent on:

  • Station and equipment maintenance
  • Supplies and inventory control documentation and report writing
  • hydrant testing
  • Pre-incident facilities planning
  • Special events stand-by
  • OSHA safety compliance
  • Disaster planning and preparedness
  • Assisting with fire safety education
  • Non-emergency public assistance
